What is a Guitar?
When the guitar came into its modern form in the middle of the 18th century it quickly found its way into the classical repertoire. However, the real popularity of the guitar began during the blues era of American culture in around the 1920s. Since then, the electric guitar has been the dominating force of the Pop world. You will likely hear it in rock, blues, jazz, soul, hip-hop, country and many, many more styles.

This is just a small example of some of the information that we provide in our piano classes.  Our classes are geared towards not only teaching you how to play piano, but educating you on what the value of music is.

Fundamentals: For Beginner Guitarists

Even within the Fundamentals section, we continue to narrow the focus into Guitar Fundamentals 1 and Guitar Fundamentals 2. Each self-paced course runs between one and eight weeks, and combined they take you from pure basics such as learning to identify the G string to playing all the major full chord shapes and reading music - the essentials of guitar which apply to most styles.

Guitar Fundamentals 1
Guitar Fundamentals 1 is our guide for the Absolute Beginner. Guitar Fundamentals 1 takes you from the moment you pick up the guitar all the way to the formation of full major chords. No previous knowledge is required or expected. All lessons have been tested to be truly step by step, at the exact level of difficulty required to encourage rapid skill building.

Guitar Fundamentals 2
Picking up where Guitar Fundamentals 1 left off, Guitar Fundamentals 2 helps you become a well-rounded beginning guitarist. Guitar Fundamentals 2 covers scales, reading music, minor chords, basic song structure, and barre chords. The lessons are more difficult, with the speed slightly increased to build skill. At the completion of this course you will have a strong foundation to pursue any musical style in our thousands of lessons.
